Ms. Scheimreif, a fine arts student, created her piece entirely from recycled elements including bottle caps and corrugated cardboard. “I did my project to promote the three Rs—reduce, reuse and recycle—which will help reduce the amount of oil we use and the fumes we produce,” she said. Ms. Scheimreif, a LAHS junior, plans to work as a novelist or artist.
Cody Eisenhauer, a senior commercial art student, designed a poster that focuses on environmental threats to Arctic and Antarctic wildlife. Mr. Eisenhauer chose his project “to express my feelings about the environment in the form of art,” he says. He plans to pursue a career in automotive design and mechanics using arts in the form of graphic design.
